Hexagon Lamp

Hexagon Lamp

Description

Hexagon Lamp This lamp was designed on an OpenLicht Workshop and inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18672 during the Lichtwoche München 2019. Many thanks to https://beta2shape.de/ for the cooperation, 3D printing knowhow and the printing! More lamps from this workshop with similar components and setup will hopefully follow. In this post I will focus on the 3D printed lightshade, instrucitons on the base and electronics can be found here soon. In the openlicht team we want to spread ideas to customize light. Me myself, I am an absolut beginner, with CAD, 3D Print and electronics so please comment parts that can be improved - but hey - even a rookie like me can do those pretty lamps... 1. Print 3D model of the lampshade and base (I used an ultimaker) 2. Cut a USB cable, insert the cable with the normal USB plug through the printed base (I used the option 2 files) and solder it to the LED stripe 3. Solder the openlicht gesture board on the other side of the LED stripe 4. Mount the shade :-) (5. Best thing would be to CAD construct a kind of pillar directly onto the base and wrap the LED stripes around. As I myself have no printer and it had to be finished quickly, so I hotgloued a stick in the middle and mounted the LED stripe there) I have 20 predifined light variations that can be changed by just waving the hand over the lamp. But with ardunio programming, unlimited variations are possible. This code is also attached in the files. https://youtu.be/i6_RTloNtOs
