Unifi UVC G2 Lens Extender (Ubiquiti)
Description
I have a few older Unifi Gen 2 cameras sitting around. They can record at 720p is barely usable for identifying license plates or faces. I did some searching on amazon and found a 9-22mm vari-focal lens that fits the 1/3" sensor of the UVC G2 Cam. The lens has twist to zoom and twist to focus rings and operates similar to a DSLR camera lens. I created an extender ring that protects the inside of the camera by going over the lens but under the sun visor. This model can be modified to fit other lenses as well. You will lose access to the IR Emitters but at the distance it zooms, they don't seem to be seen anyway. I would recommend just taking out the IR emitter ring but still use the IR cut filter to help at night regardless. I spray painted it black and it looks pretty sharp!
