Leonardo Da Vinci's Self-Propelled Cart

Leonardo Da Vinci's Self-Propelled Cart

Description

Leonardo Da Vinci's cart is but one of the many incredible machines designed by Leonardo Da Vinci. Like most of them, it was never built. This machine was designed for use in the Renaissance Festivals in special effects, not for transport. The machine is powered by the twin mainspring barrels located in the back, and has the acceleration regulated using the springs branching off of the top of the cage. The machine is steered using a lever attached to the axle of the housing for the front wheel, and could be programmed using modular blocks on the mainspring barrels (here fixed). This machine is designed for demonstration of how the technology of the time shaped inventions, as well as how these restrictions were worked around. I do not know if this model works, as I have not been able to print it.
