Neopixel ring 2020 nerd goggles
Description
These are a simple Neopixel RGB LED ring goggles (nerd style ;-)). Two models supplied, a plain one and a 2020 new year's eve mod. I used these rings: 'NeoPixel Ring - 16 x 5050 RGB LED': https://www.adafruit.com/product/1463 They fits nicely. Use your favourite microcontroller (I used an arduino nano), and drive the LEDs with some of the thousands scripts out there. Insert the cables through the supplied holes and feel free to make your customizations. I use a 5V arduino nano and a pocket USB power bank. Goggles are 70mm IPD (interpupillary distance). Pins are simple and plain to allow customization, they are simmetrical so you just print two of them. Plug the cables with some tape or make some holes to pass the cables through. Included a sample arduino nano code as text file. This design uses just 3 pins of the arduino nano, Pin2 (data) and 5v/GND. Print in PLA, PET or low warp ABS. (This tends to warp a lot). Use M3 screws to fix the goggles' pins. Use them if you want to seem 'nerdy', if you want to have a bright eyesight, if you want a flashlight-like eyes, or if you just want to look cool, after all you have made them at your own !! I'll show pics/vids of my build when I finish my custom arduino nano script. https://youtu.be/ybOgg0To0rM Happy 2020 !! UPDATE (27-NOV-2019): Upps! Found some bugs in the example script. Fixed now.
