Artillery Sidewinder X1 - Hemera Mount (StealthTouch) with BLTouch (0,28 Offset)

Artillery Sidewinder X1 - Hemera Mount (StealthTouch) with BLTouch (0,28 Offset)

Description

This is a Hemera Extruder mount (#StealthTouch for being hidden behind the extruder) for the Sidewinder X1 (V4 with the 3 holes on the carriage, V3 and earlier with 4 holes). This was designed from scratch, but the idea of the two parts mount was inspired by Joe Casha (3DMN, Thanks, Joe, for the awesome installation guide!). I mainly made this because I wanted the BLTouch to have the shortest offset possible to the nozzle since my bed level test was giving me wierd results in the center and right edge. The BLTouch offset is only X:0 Y:28. One of the shortest I can find so far for the Hemera. NOTE: The mount is designed for genuine BLTouch. If you have a cloned BLtouch, you may need to shim the probe with a nut or washer or two to push the probe further down below the nozzle. Otherwise, the nozzle will touch the bed first before the probe to trigge min Z or it might be too close for comfort even if the nozzle doesn't actually touch the bed. Use M3 screws and square/hex nuts. The square nuts can be those thick cheaper ones off Amazon. One of the key for this design is that you can use M3 square or hex nuts instead of just thin square nuts. Longer M3 screws are also supported for mounting the bracket onto the printed base, if you don't have short screws. It has a wire duct built into the base to manage the BLTouch wires. You can print out any fan ducts you want to since this doesn't affect the front of Hemera at all. No support is needed to print, but do turn on detect bridging though. STEP file is also included if you want to make one for other hotends. Would love to see your make afterward please. Update ====== 12-12-2019: Made the bottom nuts slots for the base be less dependent on the first layer squish factor. Added some chamfer to the nuts slots so that it won't become too small if your first layer is too squished. Also, I have tested the base now and it does work with hex nuts. 12-18-2019: I made a unified version of the base plate that should support V3 as well. Also added a M3 0.50 pitch threaded version of the Hemera+circuit board bracket. The two extra holes near the top of the base will be to support Mosaic Palette. It will be uploaded once I am satisfied with the design. 12-27-2019: Feedback was given that V3 was getting blocked by the carriage on the right side. I have enlarged that area. Thanks, Rodney Scheffer for the feedback! 12-28-2019: There was a request to have a shorter distance bracket due to short heater cartridge wire. So, one is now uploaded. Installation ======== 1. Install BLTouch onto the printed out base 2. Install base with the now attached BLTouch onto the X carriage of the X1 using the stock M3 screws 3. Install the breakout board onto the bracket with 4 M3 square/hex nuts and screws or zip ties if you don't have any extras sq/hex nuts or use the threaded version if you don't have extra sq/hex nuts 4. Install the bracket onto the base using 4 M3 square nuts and screws 5. Install your original 4020 fan with your choice of fan duct that you can find on this site or just use the one from 3DMN
