AcCorps, an open source stethoscope (WIP)

AcCorps, an open source stethoscope (WIP)

Description

AcCorps is an open source 3D printed stethoscope for the fetal heart sounds acquisition (but it will also work for adult heart sounds). This device was optimized to provide an mechanical acoustic amplification especially in the low-frequency band which corresponds to the heart sounds. This is an biomimicry inspiration from the human cochlea, the length is increased by a fzctor 70 in order to target the heart sounds. The stethoscope is connected to an electret microphone (ref AOM-6738L-R but it will work with any 9.6mm diameter microphone with a good response in the low frequency band) and the sounds are recording with an Android smartphone connected with the jack input. - AcCorps_LUNG have a 70 cm tube length what allows a mechanical resonance at ~120Hz (lung sounds) - AcCorps_HEART have a 140cm tube length what allows a mechanical resonance at ~60Hz (heart sounds). This part needs a high precision 3D printer. To connect the microphone, you will need a TRRS jack cable. The ground and the MIC line should be connected to the microphone.
