AlbaBird FPV Camera Pan mount

AlbaBird FPV Camera Pan mount

Description

Wanted a simple Pan mount for my Albabird. I did not need a Pan and Tilt mount so I designed a basic Pan only mount. With the gears used in the comments I can get about 130 degrees in either direction. I used a small 5 gram servo (the cutout is for my servo you may need to open it up for yours) Gears I found on Amazon (link below) I used a servo horn that came with the servo as well as the servo horn screw. Assembly is simple. I used Goop to glue things together. Adhere the servo from the bottom of the platform (tabs are out of site) Print out the filler plug and glue it up inside of the deepest area of the larger gear. Glue and center the servo horn of choice to the filler plug If you use my Camera holder glue it to the smaller gear and center it up and let dry. Slide the smaller gear over the post on the platform. The hole in the post is 1.5mm in diameter. Depending on the screw of choice you may need to open it up slightly. Use a washer (about 7 to 10mm in diameter) and pop in in the gear center hole and use the screw to secure the gear to the platform leaving just a hair of play to allow the gear to spin freely. Note: please tighten the screw slowly so as not to accidentally snap off the posts. Temporarily place the larger gear onto the servo and center your servo. Move large gear to get as center as possible. You may need to adjust trims on radio to get a perfect center. Once satisfied drop the servo screw down inside of the gear hole and tighten. I cut a slot in the Albabirds nose cover large enough to accommodate the servo and the tabs on the servo. I also mounted the wood peice supplied by Finwing previously and used Goop to glue the platform onto the wood.
