icosidodecahedron connectors Here is a stocking stuffer I'm posting in time for Christmas 2019. These are the vertex connectors for an icosidodecahedron. Assembled as a little kit, they make a nice little puzzle that's reasonably easy to assemble. I have been inspired by this particular shape since I first saw a sketch by Leonardo Da Vinci. Since then I have made wooden models, plywood versions, and now this set of 3D printable connector pieces. There are three different shapes included. The X shape can be used to construct a complete icosidodecahedron, and there are left and right handed Y shaped pieces that can be used to construct a hemispherical shape. The holes have been sized for use with 1/8" dowel. I found there are small variations in diameter of 1/8" dowels between different suppliers, so I tested with a few. You will need to cut out your own dowels for assembly. They can be any length so long as they are all the same length. Pictures are enclosed showing the pieces required for the complete spherical version and the hemispherical version.
