Ramps case for Pi4
Description
This thing is a case for an Arduino Mega256 with a RAMPS1.4 board populated with TMC2130 stepper drivers. There are mountings and openings etc... for a RasPi4 running Octoprint. Whilst building my Prusa-ish I was having trouble finding an enclosure just right for my needs. I came across a few really nice enclosures but none would accommodate the additional height needed for the TMC2130 stepper connections. I also wanted to include a RasPi, and since I just bought a Pi4 to play with I figured why not. (Side note, the Pi4 is fantastic for Octopi!!!!) So, here we have it. A Ramps enclosure that takes a Mega256, Ramps, TMC2130s and a RasPi4. I tried to make all slots etc... accessible, and the only thing I am not quite happy with is the need to loop back the Mega-RasPi USB cable. This is the only way I could think to make it both 'atomic' but also allow access to program and/or control externally. It isn't pretty, but I did manage to find some 12" USB cables to at least there isn't a huge long cable. Other USB sockets and Ethernet can be accessed from the bottom for cameras etc... The RasPi4 HDMI connector is on the front and the RasPi SD card slot is on the right side. The Ramps SD card slot is on the left side. There are 2 fans, one is a 50x20mm fan on the right side to cool the stepper controllers and there is a 40x10mm fan on the bottom to cool the RasPi. These are what I had kicking around so you may want/need to change the sizes. The SCAD file also includes a few other misc models I used to build my Prusa-ish but those are pretty custom so may or may not help anyone else :) Anyhow, not sure if this is any use to anyone else, but here it is anyhow.
