Mercuria 001 - just another PC case

Mercuria 001 - just another PC case

Description

January 1, 2020 At the beginning I would like to point out that it is a PC case for components that I have accumulated at home and I just move them from one cabinet to another remnants after rebuilding PC or just appeared here. The motherboard is from Dell SFF and is basically atypical. However, the entire system can be remastered with the included Fusion 360 files to suit your needs. The skeleton of the system is derived from the kit I used to play with as a child - Merkur. (Therefore also the name Mercuria :)) Of course I believe anything can be done again and better. It should also be pointed out that the whole system is designed from scratch, so gradually it will probably sometimes get to the final. All holes were designed for 4mm and I used 3mm screws. I have now completed Phase 1 - which was to create the skeleton and position the component and start the PC. Phase 2 should include internal cover - currently done only from the bottom - although the lower part is done, but I'm not particularly satisfied with it. Anyway the end justifies the means. I also expect to cover the front part with USB connectors and ON/OFF switch. On the side or rear wall there is an additional fan to take the warm air out. Because I had to move the power supply from the rear to the side forwards due to the CPU cooler, I still consider disassembling the power supply and bringing power to the back of the case. Of course, it is also possible to use the angled connector to the power supply. <strike>Finally, phase 3 should be an outer cover, including an air circulation opening.</strike> As I wrote above, I designed and prepared everything in Autodesk Fusion 360, so there should be no problem to customize anything. All photos are real, and the placement of things may change in the final. Also excuse my English, I am not a native speaker and this text is mostly from the translator. ------------------------------------------------- January 3, 2020 Phase 02 - part 2 change ATX power position from side to back, new files ATX_hold_back_phase02_part2 and Fusion 360 file -------------------------------------------------- January 4, 2020 A minor problem I now have to solve is the placement of the graphics card. The motherboard has two PCIex16 connectors, but perhaps one is defective and the other is located so that the graphics card can not be inserted here for reasons of location. However, I used a cable to extend the PCIex16 connector. So I put the graphics card out of the Mercuria base skeleton. It's not a problem, moreover, as I wrote at the beginning, after all it is a "universal" case, unfortunately I also want to place an atypical motherboard. Of course, all Fusion 360 files are or will be included. If any of you use the design or parts, you may need to adjust something. ------------------------------------------------------ January 5, 2020 Phase 02 - part 3 - graphics card
New Graphics card holders outside skelet Mercuria:
- Graph_hold_middle_bott.stl
- Graph_hold_top.stl (x2)
- Graphics_hold_back_bottom.stl

With integrated or small graphics card and functional hw (pcie) you can pass this step

Phase 02 - part 4 - HDD

- hdd_hold_1.stl (1-3x, in my case is 1x Win10, 1x macOS and 1x Linux)
- HDD_hold_case_top_1.stl and HDD_hold_case_top_2.stl (one is enough, but two is better :))
- HDD_hold_case_bottom.stl
