Pylon and motormount in one for RC gliders with glassfiber fuselage

Description

Pylon for my Multiplex Super Alpha (aka Nimbus) from 1977 GFK rc glider, mounted on top of the fuselage with 6 mm bolt. I drilled the front hole up to 5.5 mm and screwed the 6 mm bolt into it and cut off the head. Just enough thread to be able to fasten the motormount with this 6mm thread and nut to the fuselage. If you think 6mm is to much, just use a 4 or 5 mm bolt and nut for the front hole. I used 4 mm bolt and nut for the backhole. The rest of the 4 mm front hole that goes to the up top, you can glue a 3 or 4 mm glasfiber or steel rod in it. Now It will never break. Secure the motor on top with 3 tieraps and some doublesided tape to keep the motor in place. If it does not fit perfectly to the fuselage just heat that part up in hot water and bend it into the right shape. Put some protective tape between fuselage and pylon to protect your fuselage. I designed it for a Turnigy Gliderdrive SK3-3850 960 kv motor with a 11x8 folding prop and 3300 3S lipo. https://hobbyking.com/nl_nl/turnigy-gliderdrive-sk3-competition-series-3850-3-5-960kv.html Maybe too much power for the thin wings, but we will see. I used same pylon on a Graupner Cirrus 75 and it works great. Just beware to put some up elevator during take off because the elevated motor pushes the nose down a bit. The front of the pylon is 10 mm wide and flat, maybe you can glue some balsa or foam to it and sand it to aerodynamic shape.
