CNC remix 16mm rods from art_and_tech and NikodemBartnik
Description
Update: 1/07/2020 I found some issues with the 2020 crossbar and how the drag chain attached to it. those files have been repaired but remain untested at this time. I uploaded the files with the redesigned 2020 crossbar and I also uploaded files that don't have the crossbar at all. Please let me know if you find issues so that I can get them repaired and also check back regularly for any updates. Thank You Warning this is still a work in process, although I am happy with the design at this point. I may change it up. I am open to and welcome criticism. I loved the designs of the MPCNC and came across NikodemBartnik design, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3004773 watched a couple of his videos and was amazed at the abuse he was able to place on his 3d Printed CNC. After a bit more research, I found art_and_tech's remix https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3750446 of NikodemBartnik design and was even more impressed with the thought and attention to detail that was added to the already great design. After looking at both designs, I became a bit greedy and wanted to make a bigger CNC. I increased the x-axis to 600mm using the 12mm shafts, but the Y-axis I wanted that to be a bit bigger and was skeptical that the 12mm rods would stay level going much above 600mm, especially with the heavy gantry. I increased the size of the shafts to 16mm x 800mm using LM16UU bearings. I also added a place on the XY mounts for a 2020 extrusion for stability and a place to run the cable drag chain. I consider myself to be a novice and appreciate constructive feedback. This was remixed in tinkercad, so other than sharing the design files on tinkercad, I am not aware of any different ways to get them out there. Originally this was printed in PETG; however, with the multiple changes that were made along the way, I ran out of PETG and started printing in ABS; both materials seemed to work fine. This is a remix of the other two designs and will need the x-axis parts from those sources. I would like to end with a big thank you to NikodemBartnik and art_and_tech and ask that you visit both of their pages they both have done a great job and deserve some recognition.
