Anet A8 Dial Indicator Holder Digital Bed Leveling

Anet A8 Dial Indicator Holder Digital Bed Leveling

Description

For no good reason I am still manually leveling the bed on my Anet A8 printer. I made this holder to go on where the front cooling fan mounts to hold an indicator. The intent here is that it is sort of a hands off approach where you can't pull or push on something that throws leveling out of whack. In my case, I move the indicator to the center of the bed and "zero" it. Then using the controls on the printer I move from one corner of the bed to the next adjusting as necessary. All in all only takes about 5 minutes and seems to last quite a while. Once completed, just need to adjust the Z height as well, but in my case, that is a threaded bolt, so a slight turn one way or another and start printing. Added the screw hole behind the clamp so that you can add additional clamping power if wanted as well. Note: This will easily go the the front of the bed, but will only get withing about 1.5" of the rear. That is due to this hanging off the front of the X carriage. I may work on another design later that covers more of the bed.
