Inductive Proximity Sensor Mount - Maker Select / Wanhao i3
Description
An induction sensor 4mm probe mount for Maker Select V2 or Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2. Tested on Maker Select V2 but mounts should be the same. I used [LJ12A3-4-Z/BX-5V](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NYD4MVC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but any 4mm inductive proximity sensor should work. I used slightly longer screws to add the mount on the top of the fan mount. Print this SOLID, you do not want any flex or play in the bracket. I also printed it upright with supports to get a clean top, although this used the most support material. Printing this sideways is the most efficient material use but I did not want support material scaring to interfere with the sensor fit. You have to update the firmware before this sensor can be installed, I used this [youtube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejpSniiJejI) by remain indoors to install my bootloader and used the firmware(marlin) and loosely followed the wiring in this [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tL4PZPHHfT0). However I did not like his mount placement so I made my own. I wired the sensor in by stealing the 5v from the SPI header and wired the signal and ground respectively to the Z-STOP connector on the Melzi board. I also have a spring steel magnetic bed to help remove prints that the sensor sees really well. From what I read the sensor should see the stock aluminum bed at about 2mm. This is a major upgrade but well worth it. I was getting tired of always leveling the bed and now with the sensor it is at the perfect level every time! Nozzle offsets I used: z: 1.05 x: -20 y: -43
