Holder for coins 2x2 flips - coin collecting (choose holds 25,40,80 or 40x 1.5x1.5)
Description
Coin holder for coins stored in common 2x2 cardboard/mylar "flips" that are stapled. and I just received a coin in a plastic 2x2 flip which fit as well, but the flaps like to slide into different slots so watch the alignment if using plastic flips. I made individual slides to keep the coins seperated to avoid contact and staple damage. This also allows you to read any labelling if its in small letters at the very top. First version holds 40, the newer version coinflip holder25 holds 25. 2/22/2020 update Added an 80flip holder, this pushed my dimensions to the absolute max for x and y axis, so I have also included 2 separate files with the base and the lid for the 80 flip box for smaller printer beds. The new 40 and 25 holders are good. 6/2/2020 update - Added a 1.5x1.5 flip holder. I do not have nay 1.5x1.5 flips to test this with - so print this at your own risk, if i ever get any of the smaller flipes i will test for fitment, or if anyone uses the new model let me know if you run into fitment issues. I have modified the slide walls to add a little more protection from flips coming out of place for smaller flips. This works much better than the previous model, but made them triangular to prevent them from touching coins on the largest coins for a 2*2. This is tested on my stuff including large dollar sized coins. On the largest items if you are using a regular stapler you might have trouble if the staple falls inside the slide path. Flat Clinch stapler has no issues like this in my testing. This new design is better with plastic flips than the old design. Use this at your own risk - im not sure which types of plastics are safe for long term coin storage - PVC can damage coins, PLA releases gasses as the lactic acids break down over time however i believe it needs sunlight to break down. I printed in PLA and will report back if i see any damage I don't expect anything, a bigger threat would probably be humidity. I have printed several more of these over the past few days and used a higher quality to print. with the higher quality prints the flips slide easily into the slots, the lids snap on tight.
