AiO Ender 3 Pro Server Style Case - (SKR v1.3)(Rasp Pi 4)
Description
**UPDATE - 7/8/2021** - So right at the beginning of covid, something happened and my whole system got fried. I basically had to start over. However, it gave me an opportunity to upgrade/adjust. Then I hit all sorts of error w/ firmware and an issue I couldn't figure out. I had to step away from printing for a while... but I'm back! I am currently using a Rasp Pi 3B+ and the SKR v1.4Turbo. All the mounts and wiring are the same, except the SKR v1.4, has a port for probe or you can still use the z endstop plug. I am still using the BTT TMC2209 drivers, which have been working out great btw. I added a 5th stepper driver in the E1 port and using it to control a 2nd Z-Stepper motor. (Just added) Also, while working to get my printer back up and running, I have changed my firmware from Marlin to Klipper. It's been a much better experience. For starts, you can flash the firmware config from Octoprint and only takes a couple seconds. When you are fine tuning offsets and building the config, it's great because no longer do you have to remove an SD and move it back and forth. Anyone interested in Klipper, should visit: https://www.klipper3d.org/ I will be posting my config on Reddit at some point, in order to help aide the print community. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- COMPLETED - 2/7/2020 - As far as the case goes, this is complete. Updates may follow on down the line. I did have to flip the Mobo (SKRv1.3) to face the raspberry Pi card because the TMC2209 Heat Sink's were a bit taller than i anticipated. Other than that, everything went fairly smooth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been building computer towers for quite some time. However, 3D printing is really opening me up to a whole new world. I am a big fan of Server Style card mounting systems. I have created my own Server Style Case using a card system. Each has only the items that directly relate to the neighboring item: MOBO <--> Relay (24v) Rasp Pi <--> Buck Converter (24v to 5v) MOSFET's x 4(max) The Lid is intended for the Raspberry Pi 4 but the mount will still fit the 3B/+. **NOTE** Thanks to Demitrix for assisting me with the mounts! The goal here is to have the power come in from one side of the box and all the wiring that goes out to the printer will come out of the other side. At this time there are no plans for the PSU as I am placing this in the bottom of a Server Enclosure to modify and place the Ender 3 Pro inside the enclosure and sitting on a board that servers as a separation between the printer and the electronics. I am also designing a 30pin wiring harness for the printer wires so that the main run of cabling from the printer, can be easily detached from the Case. Each card within the box will have wires coming off each connection and JST connectors at the end. This is so when you need to remove/install a card, simply unclip/clip the JST connectors and remove/install the card. The over all intent of the this design is house all the essential components of the printer that need to be outside the heated space, as well as easy modular system that can adapt to any future changes without having to redesign the entire project. I will be updating this as I go and will provide lots of good pics when complete.
