Flux Syringe Tip & Plunger
Description
This package contains an applicator tip and plunger for the cheap Chinese made Amtech 10cc syringes, which are sold in bulk and come with neither. I'd been hot gluing plunger base from an old Global 10ml syringe with the rubber end removed into the red plastic pusher cap of these things, but since I was making an applicator tip I thought I'd go ahead and make a plunger. These tubes of Chinese flux do not have threaded ends, so my tip is designed to press snugly into the nose of these things. The tips are only a 15 minute print. Depending on your printer, they may fit too loosely or too tight, so if the first one doesn't fit, scale up or down to suit. I'm printing these on my CR-10 clone, sliced using the standard quality 0.2mm profile in Cura, vertically with of course, no supports. The plunger too is intended to print vertically, flat end down. The plunger head has a 14mm diameter that fits snugly into the red pusher caps of these tubes. The plungers take over an hour to print, so I've included a test plug you can try first, then scale up or down as necessary to fit your tubes, then scale the plunger to match before printing. The test plug is only used for sizing purposes, and I put a 10mm flat nose on to it so that it may be printed vertically in about 12 minutes with no support. Note that the plungers are intended to fit tightly into the red pusher caps, requiring significant force so that they don't fall out on the bench. I recommend strongly that you first insert the plunger, while the black cap is still on the tube, before inserting the applicator tip to avoid a greasy mess on your bench. I hope somebody finds this useful. UPDATE: Sorry, I forgot to include the cap for the tips. I just added it. It's a 7 minute print, vertical open end up, no supports.
