NodeMCU ESP8266 Enclosure
Description
I created this enclosure to house my HiLetgo ESP8266 NodeMCU (ESP-12E) loaded with WLED firmware to control SK6812 RGBWW led strips under my kitchen cabinets. I connected my Home Assistant home automation server to the WLED so that I can control them using Amazon Alexa (or Google Home) to turn them on, off, dimm, or change colors. You can use either the "WLED" or "Esp" lid. The small hole on the LED is to show the WiFi status light. I removed the headers on my ESP8266, but I included some extra room on the enclosure that hopefully leaves room for the headers if you choose to leave them on. I haven't tested, so comment and let me know if it fits fine. UPDATE 2/1/2020: The first revision works well only without the headers attached. I've created a new version that works with or without the headers and a new lid design. Both are labeled as *v2.stl. You can use any of the lid files with either of the enclosure files. But only the v2 enclosure will fit the NodeMCU ESP8266 with the headers still attached. If you're not sure if your ESP is compatible, check the photo I provided.
