Ender 3 Low Friction Filament Guide with Cable Guide
Description
I am a big fan of Creality Ender 3 as it prints nearly as good as my Prusa i3 MK3 for the quarter of cost. So to learn it I tried all upgrades I found. And I have to say, that I was not happy with all available filament guides. All of them suffer high friction and doesn't solve the problem of the angle. Some of them are noisy (sic!). So I designed my own filament guide. You will need about 15cm 4/2 PTFE Bowden tubing (I used original tube as I upgraded it to Capricorn XS, so I had a spare). So the filament runs smoothly inside short extra PTFE tubing. I tested it for a month and it works perfectly. What is nice is that the filament is guided very precisely and never touches the Z axis screw. The Low Friction Filament Guide you mount with existing screws. I added also hotend cable guide. It can be used together with cable chain or alone. I didn't glue the PTFE tube as it sits firm in the guide. In case of filament clogging (specially a bulb on the end) even if you pull it out of the extruder it is better not to pull it out through the filament guide. It such case you should cut the filament between the guide and extruder and pull it out independently. Print it in PLA, infill 95% as it will be more stiff than PET or ABS. I've tested many variants and I share the best working one. This design doesn't use any of existing things.
