Tronxy X5SA Titan Extruder Direct Drive Setup (Stock Parts)
Description
Better version: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4670281 Hey if you own a Tronxy X5SA you probally want to, unless you like long round shapes, to get rid of the 10m long bowden tube setup. I ended up with stringing on PLA prints at 180 ° with 10 mm retractions. The chainmail in the photos is printed with 3 mm retraction and there is no visible stringing. The only necessary part you will need: Cable Extension for Extruder motor Keep in mind you will want to use the stock motor for this upgrade, taking a smaller pancake motor will require you to reduce the driver's current, which i unfortunately was unable to do. If i measure from the adjustable resistor to gnd i always read out 0 volts. It seems like Tronxy decided to use fixed resistors to save worktime. Other parts i used: Replacement for the cable chain: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07MQ698YM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (If you crank it real tight it will have great stiffness ) Better PTFE tube: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07N67DYGD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Better Timing Belts (reenforced ones): https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0748D1GF3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Cooler for extruder motor (more weight, but the even the stock ones tends to get hot): https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B083ZXF4HH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
