Detailed 3D Interlocking Carcassonne Tiles

Description

Carcassonne is a tile-based board game for 2-5 players, originally designed by Hans im Glück. Its named after the fortified town in France that inspired the original concept. I designed this initially as an experiment in having object's physical properties enforce game mechanics. In the game, each edge type can only be joined to a like edge, so there are 3 different types of interlocking used in this thing. I ended up having a lot of fun building these high-detail tiles. The pieces are designed with excessive tolerances so that they should be easy to slot together even when reaching across a filled game table, but still interlock enough that the whole board can be slid around a table as needed without disrupting the game (except possibly some meeples, slide gently to protect them). I recommend buying the original game for the other pieces and rule book, this is just a replacement for the flat printed cardboard tiles. You will need a larger bag for piece picking than what the base game ships with. Standard meeples do have something of a hard time sitting on some of the pieces, but that's a sacrifice I decided to make to have the game look this way.
