Cable Box for LED Strip
Description
printing it in transparent may not be the most effective to hide the cables but - you'll get the idea. I mounted an LED strip at a very visible place, around my bed and wanted to hide the cable spaghetti at the end. And, for a number of reasons, I wanted it to be both stable and soft-cornered. No hard edges to hurt my back, a recess, where the screw goes in, that sort of things. On one side (3'o clock) an opening for a 12x3.5 mm led strip in a silicon tube, and 6 o'clock a 4mm hole for a round cable. That's how I needed it. (Actually it's more like 2 and 5 o'clock in the picture cause I turned it a bit to straighten the strip.) The thing has a bottom which even has some sockets to fix the ingoing cables with screws (but I found I wouldnt need it). And you might add holes into it to screw the bottom into the wall first, fix the cables and then add the top cover. But I fixed it all in one go using a 40mm x 3,5 mm spex screw. YMMV, freeCAD sources are included so you can shift it all around to your liking. Have fun! And, if you have sharp eyes you can spot an 'almost invisible' led strip clip https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4167059 hiding in plain sight ;) I printed it w/o support, 0.2/0.3 mm layer height and it came out okish. Update: the box got a litle companion for the other end of the LED strip. And another one, sizewise medium. Added a second version of the freeCAD source with a little parametric which helps a lot changing the size.
