Norco Search XR-S steerer tube protector for handle bar bag
Description
This cover is intended to be used to protect the steerer tube of a Norco Search XR steel frame when used with bikepacking handlebar roll bags or harnesses such as those from Ortlieb, Apidura or Revelate Designs. The cover provides a shock-absorbing platform for a handlebar bag or harness to rest against and rotate around and prevent stratches and nicks. The added flanges constrain securing straps to prevent them from slipping off. When printed in TPU the cover will provide a tough low-friction surface for the bag to rest against. I use the cover with a Revelate Designs Harness. A stepped cutout allows the cover to fit flush to the steerer tube while on top of the Norco badge. Required parts: - TPU filament - 2x M3 locknuts - 2x M3x16 button head screws Installation instructions: - Bend the cover over the steerer tube and slide it to the correct height. Locate the slot to the rear. - Install the handbar bag or harness and install the securing strap. - Adjust the tension in the securing strap so that the bag cannot flop forwards or backwards, but also so that it is not gripping the cover too tightly. The strap should not interfere with ease of steering.
