Hyperkin RetroN 77 Emblem Mod 2600 Fuji logo
Description
This is a replacement LED emblem for the Hyperkin RetroN 77 Atari 2600 clone console. I wanted something more flashy than the standard OEM white plastic LED diffuser. My inspiration came from the old "Have you played Atari today?" T.V. commercials. This was a long experimental effort, and I went through several iterations before reaching a final design. It is still somewhat a work in progress, meaning, that If I come up better design, I will upload any updates. For the time being, I am fairly satisfied with the mod at this time, so I am taking a break to work on other projects. This mod comes in several designs. I have uploaded all the different models to choose from. My criteria for the designs was that they can be printed by anyone, and that this is a "no-cut" mod for your game console. All that is required is light soldering if you desire to change the stock LED color (a slow/fast color changing 5mm LED works well). This mod can also be modified to work with dual extruder printers. I do not have access to a dual extruder, and do not know how to combine the models, so if anyone wants to help, feel free to "remix this thing" for dual extruder compatibility (thanks). The two basic mods I have included are one that is for use with a custom Neopixel (WS2812) LED strip, the other works for just using the stock LED or replacing your own. Either mod will work for using stock 5mm LEDs, so it's really just an aesthetic preference. You can view the entire project build and see more photos as an instructable here:
