MMU2S Mod for Bondtech Extruder
Description
This is my modification of a Bondtech (Mosquito and e3d V6) Extruder to work with a MMU2S unit. This mod uses mainly four pieces: - BMG_Hinge (with a long blade to improve the IR detection) - Cover, in two parts to be adjustable (better IR calibration) - New Adapter, modified to bring the PTFE tube closer to the filament gears. Use a square nut and a M3x6 screw to secure BT_Sensor_Cover_PC4-M10_MMU2_up, it is moveable to calibrate the IR sensor. ADVICE: I recommend to use the Prusa ID: 1.85 mm as an internal PTFE tube and PTFE tube ID: 2 or greater (people use even uniform ID: 3 mm) as external tubes. With these PTFE tubes, my MMU2S works great, there are virtually no human interventions when I print using the multimaterial mode. You need a PC4-M10 passthrough connector, notice the PTFE tube from MMU2S unit has to be introduced about 30mm. ###**UPDATES** 2020/03/07: + I have added a cover compatible with the old Bondtech V6 extruder (the one that used laser sensor) but only one screw can be used the other doesn't fit. 2021/01/12: + Added a new (wider and taller) improved version (named v2). ** 2021/09/28:** + New improved version (MMU2S for BT Mosquito Extruder v3.zip file), it uses thread inserts
