Samsung Ice Maker Shut Off
Description
The ice maker in our Samsung fridge doesn't turn off anymore, because the ice maker shut arm broke. This thing lift up and activates a switch when the ice bin is full. Ours broke off a while ago, and the part is not easily sourced anywhere, so now that I have a 3D printer, I figured I would just make my own. I found the part online, and was able to use pictures, and the remaining broken piece, to model a new arm. I was able to measure key dimensions on the remaining broken piece with calipers to get the model right on critical features. I printed in PLA, because I have no desire to print in ABS, though the original part is injection molded ABS. If it doesn't last long enough, I would possibly try PETG instead of PLA. I have no idea if anyone else would ever need this same part again, but if they ever did, I might as well post it here for someone to use.
