3D Solutech MasterSpool

3D Solutech MasterSpool

Description

***UPDATE*** V3 updated with a 54mm diameter opening for those of you with non-stock spool holders. This file has not been tested but I expect it to be similar to V2. ***VERY IMPORTANT*** Be gentile putting the spool together. Further, PLEASE UTILIZE THE LOCKING MECHANISM! There are small holes near the inner circle that are intended for a small piece of filament to go through. This locks your spool together. Without doing this, your spool will be prone to opening up. See photos. Wasn't able to find a minimalist 3D Solutech Masterspool that I liked, so I decided to remix one. I hope this helps. Recommendations (not necessary, but helpful): Material: PETG Layer height: .2 to .32 Infill: at least 15% Infill Pattern: Gyroid Shells: at least 3 Speed: 60 to 80 mm/s No Supports Needed I printed a pair in 5hrs 45 min with 85g of material using PETG with 80mm/s, .32 layer height, 3 shells, 15%infill, and Gyroid pattern. This was a fast draft but turned out well. The whole benefit of printing this model is to reduce cost and print time. Some of the other models will take nearly a day to print both pieces. This, for me, was unacceptable. Final note, since this was a remix, I took shortcuts in designing and left the interior circle much smaller than a standard spool. It is still large enough to fit on a standard Ender 3 spool holder, and I actually think it turns easier and with less resistance than a normal spool. Enjoy!
