4mm Scale Hornby J15 handrail drilling jig
Description
This is a jig designed to help with redrilling the holes for the handrails on a Hornby J15. The Hornby model has the handrail knobs fitted horizontally whereas the prototype had the knobs running perpendicular to the boiler. The knobs can be removed from the model relatively easily and then the weird extra moldings which hold them on the boiler need to be filed off. This jig can be clamped onto the locomotive footplate and has a hole into which a length of brass tube can be inserted which can be used to guide a drill pit into the boiler at the right angle. Two copies of this part need to be printed and then joined with a pair of M4 bolts. The jig can be slid along the footplate to give the horizontal positioning.
