Integrated Modular Carriage for AM8 or Anet A8 and V6/BLTouch
Description
This is a two-piece carriage system for the AM8 and A8. The rear piece (mounted on the printer's X-carriage) includes built-in bearing/bushing holders, a belt holder/tensioner, and a mounting point for a BLTouch sensor. The front piece (held to the rear piece with four M3x8 screws and nuts) holds an E3D V6 (or clone) hotend in a bowden configuration, the parts-cooling blower, and your choice of A8-compatible cooling nozzles (not included here). The intent is to facilitate quick tool changes with a minimum of printer disassembly. I suspect it wouldn't take much to modify the included hotend mount to a direct-drive configuration. Beyond that, a laser engraver/cutter should be fairly simple to implement, and even a pick-and-place tool for electronics assembly isn't out of the question. Photos show an older version which needed some adjustment: the belt tensioner is positioned 3.2 mm too high and the BLTouch mount is positioned 1.4 mm too high. The included OpenSCAD and STL files have already had this corrected and should be good to go.
