Squash Ball Feet - Low Profile - Ender 3 & Others
Description
Designed some dampeners that only require a single pack of two squash balls, no extra hardware, and makes a low profile solution that stays completely under the printer. Part of the process involves cutting each squash ball in half and I modeled a jig that holds the ball and centers it making it easy to cut two near perfect halves. **PLEASE be careful not to injure yourself when cutting the squash balls** A simple box cutter with a new blade will do nicely, if you have trouble with the blade sticking to the rubber while cutting, some oil on the blade will help it slide through. The base that holds the ball halves is a two piece design that orients the high stress areas of the clips against the 'grain', so they won't break during installation - as well as eliminates support material requirements. *You will need support for the cutting jig in the volume where the ball will be held* I've included a patterned base, and smooth plain version as well. I use these on my Ender 3 Pro, but I imagine they will work on any machine with 40 wide rails. If you like my design consider throwing a dollar my way, or don't :)
