Cr-10/Tevo tornado Y easy all metal linear rails conversion

Cr-10/Tevo tornado Y easy all metal linear rails conversion

Description

This project serves as concept suggestion for conversion Y axis motion on linear rails for CR-10 / Tevo Tornado 3D printers. Maybe it exists somewhere, but I didn't find this solution so just want to share it with community. Key features: - No printed adapters - Whole setup is all metal - All what you need to do is just precisely drill a few 4mm holes Key is to use 2010 standardized aluminium profiles to mount rails. With that you need to only drill a few precise holes to profiles and Y axis aluminium plate and then everything fits perfectly. Finding of supplier of this profiles for some regions can be a hardest part of this modification. To precisely draw hole position on your bed aluminium plate, you can use motion system of your printer. Looks a bit silly but as results are 16 hole positions perfectly alligned with printers axises. https://youtu.be/-WBLUmoa3o8 Even when mounting holes for linear rail carriages are 3mm, recommending to drill at least 4mm holes to have margin for drill imprecissions and use screw pads. Recommending to use sliding nuts https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_dZ5iE01 To mount 2010 profile on printer use 20 series M4 nuts. To mount rails on profile, you need 20 series M3 nuts.
