Description
Air respirator that uses P95 cartridges in place of the currently hard to find N95 cartridges. Please understand that n95 respirators arent perfect. Proper tension or even a foam liner is important. Optional add ons: one way valve to prevent humidity from entering the filter. This requires a round, thin piece of rubber similar to breather masks, but it is really a flap that closes with increased pressure. Also, it may be advisable to have a seal around the cartridge to the male gasket end, similar to what a mask has. You can get creative with this (braces rubber bands, silicone etc). Make sure to completely sand off supports before attaching the cartridge, and possibly even lubricate the male locking protrusions before twisting. This was not needed in my print personally. Mask may be slightly boiled to conform shape to face, similar to a mouth guard, depending on the filament. *Because of Covid-19 there has been a shortage of N95 respirators. This printable option allows you to use painting cartridges which operate off the N95 platform, with boast additional protection against oil and fumes. My research as shown these to be interchangeable from the n95 with no loss of function. Re-sizable options are available, simply download the mask portion, distort to size and then add the male gasket file piece after resizing by stacking the objects in cura. Please tip me if you found this useful, thank you and God bless :) *work in progress, last update 3/18/2020. Mask fits snugly with straps. Air is hard to flow round mask when out-port is closed. If in a chance the mask does not adhere well, individual components can be ported, and combined within Cura. The wall thickness of the mask can be changed to allow a better bend and contour to the face. The male port should not be resized due to shape constraint of the female piece of the cartridge (hence why I kept that seperate to allow one to resize the mask). The 2 pieces of the mask can be combined in the slicing program if needed.
