Light saber / sabre from 41mm PVC pipe
Description
This is an easy to make lightsabre based on a short length of 41mm PVC pipe and some 3D printed parts. It is light and strong and looks great. I designed this for my son who wanted to use a pipe after watching some youtube videos. There are two options for the emitter so mix and match as you wish. I have included the source OpenSCAD files so you can customise the design. It is likely you'll need to change the dimensions to suit the pipe diameter you use. If you make a derivative, please link to this design. I printed using PLA then spray painted with primer then with black and silver. Use the guide ring to help accurately position the handle grip bars on the PVC pipe. You'll need to lightly sand the PVC pipe before painting because paint doesn't seem to stick otherwise. There is quite a bit of space inside the design so you might want to work out how to add a battery and LED and make a torch. Have fun!
