Elegoo Mars USB Extension Cable Clamp
Description
This is a USB extension cable clamp to move the USB on a non-P/Pro Elegoo Mars to the front. This is to avoid a lot of modification to the printer itself. Internally, you can just disconnect the cable from the backing plate, cut a hole in the front, add two threaded holes to affix the USB and now it is on the front. Most don't like this idea (I didn't), so I looked at an external option. By replacing two of the countersunk M3x6 screws on the side that hold the front and back plates, you can use that as a fixture point without changing the printer or printer internal accesses. I picked the left side (my thermal controller for a warmed vat is on the right), though this is done on either side. It has a slight clamping action because I wasn't sure on cable manufacturing tolerances so this could clamp it if it's slightly undersized and can be worked free in use. If it's oversized, you'll either have to scale it or use some needle files or Dremel to "fit" it to your cable. Aside from the file you'll need The USB extension cable, 12 in: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076Z83QTT 2x M3x8 countersunk, cap, or button screws. This part is sized for the one I purchased above as I could take measurements from it. VARIANT NOTES: I included two designs, one for countersunk holes, the other for if you have hex cap or extra M3 button screws from your other 3D printer(s?).
