Updated Soda Stream Pentacap

Updated Soda Stream Pentacap

Description

I love my Soda Stream but always wished that the bottle caps weren't so slippery. Especially when they get a little condensation on them, it can be pretty difficult to get them off. This cap has a knurled pentagon shape that is much easier for me to grip. This is an update to a previous posting. The thread pitch and shape have been adjusted slightly, and the gasket strategy is completely different. I print these on my Ender 3 at .16 layer height. My settings create essentially 100% infill for a very sturdy result. The gasket template is printed in two parts. Snap them together and (1) hold firmly on top of a sheet of 1mm silicone (like a craft mat). (2) Cut around the outside edge. (3) Keep pressure on the center portion of the gasket template while you remove the outer ring. (4) Cut around the inner portion of the gasket template. Remove the template and separate the inner circle of silicone from the gasket ring. The silicone ring is the only part that goes into the cap, pressed down past the lip of the inner wall. I get an excellent seal by using 2 gaskets in each cap. This posting is an attempt to fill a void left by the original manufacturer of the Soda Stream system. I do not claim any connection with the Soda Stream company. It is specifically not my intention to compete with Soda Stream in any way. Enjoy this cap, and please let me know if you have ideas for improvements.
