ventilator

ventilator

Description

Hi this is the design of a ventilator. it is open source. it should be noted that this is an initial design, and does not have any medical certificate. this device is designed to provide ventilation for one human only. it is being driven by one stepper motor (NEMA) only. it has four solenoid valves, and two balloons ( if the balloons were NOT available, you can use a pepsi bottle the one with 1.75L volume, it will fit in). the working principle is just like next: when the two balloons is being compressed: the solenoid valve at the oxygen is closed to prevent the oxygen contained inside the the red balloon from reentering the oxygen tank. the solenoid valve at the other end of the red balloon is open forcing the oxygen contained in the red balloon to be pumped into the patient's lungs. the solenoid valve at the inlet of the green balloon is closed to provide a single path for the oxygen from the red balloon into the patient's lungs. the last solenoid valve which is at the outlet of the green balloon is open, so that the used air that is contained inside the green balloon is pumped to the outside atmosphere. when the two balloons is being decompressed: the solenoid valve at the oxygen tank is open, so that the oxygen will flow from the tank to the red balloon. the solenoid valve at the other end of the red balloon is closed so that the used air coming out from the patient's lung will not mixed with the fresh oxygen. the solenoid valve at the inlet of the green balloon is open to provide a negative pressure that will suck the used air from the patient's lungs to the green balloon. the solenoid valve at the outlet of the green balloon is closed so that no air from the outside atmosphere will enter the green balloon. for any suggestion please contact me so i can develop the second edition. for better understanding of the working principle, this is a link to a video in my facebook page that will illustrate the working principle at the last 18 seconds of the video: https://www.facebook.com/106353767552944/videos/1139922196371940/
