Marble track - basic tile v2 (Gravitrax compatible)

Marble track - basic tile v2 (Gravitrax compatible)

Description

------------- *update 5th of April* Finally, the highly anticipated update to the base tile! The two part improvement was easier to print, but needed glue for good usability. I have been looking for a better solution for a long time and I think I have actually found it. Still two parts for easy printing, but no glue is needed anymore as the part holds itself in place when an insert part is used. Use the super tight fit when you print on a raft. Use the tight fit when you expect less tolerance from your printer or when you print directly on the bed. ------------- I got the idea for this part from alex80it (see remix). I've designed my part from scratch and I'm probably using different dimensions than his parts. The dimensions are also not the same as original gravitrax parts as I’ve used as much space as possible to be able to create inner insets which can be more complex than only some lanes or curves. 've designed lots of parts for my basic tile to be able to build a complete marble track. Check out my other designs as they arrive here on thingiverse. Note; the inner dimensions of this tile are not compatible with gravitrax insets or any other design by other designers on thingiverse. https://youtu.be/-eAlQq7iwhE https://youtu.be/K7lQdOgLGNI https://youtu.be/oewZAYERE50 https://youtu.be/M6Vu8oLQ4OM https://youtu.be/GHn4nCx018Q https://youtu.be/IKzbd2h6ktA https://youtu.be/gLjz_M5uejk ----- Update 9 October 2020: To increase the compatibility of this part I bought original Gravitrax parts to measure the correct dimensions. This results in v44 of the basic tile. The exits of this tile are now flush with the input/exits of original Gravitrax parts (see my make for more detailed information). I also made it easy to spot v44 between your older printed tiles, it has two dots on the bottom as version information. Furthermore I also supplied a spacer plate that can be used to raise older basic tiles to the correct height. Update 21 august 2020: Slightly enlarged the notch depth to ensure that the inset is flush with the base. Update 25 July 2020: Testprinted the two part design and did some fine-tuning. This is the final design (v37). Superglue together. Update 24 July 2020: Improved the printability of this tile by splitting it in two parts. I've not printed this design yet but the idea is to superglue it together and be able to print without supports. (included v30 with supports, and v33 as two parts) Update; tested in a real gravitrax marble track and they fit fine! ----- If you found this useful, please donate what you think it is worth to my paypal.me. Help cover the time of design. Thanks, Enjoy!
