Rail / Rod Brackets for QIDI or Flashforge

Rail / Rod Brackets for QIDI or Flashforge

Description

These are the brackets that hold the 8mm rods to your printer frame. The original ones had warped and cracked over the years on my machine. These are designed to be the exact same height as the original, but are more solid. This makes them a bit more difficult to assemble, but a lot stiffer. The holes for the M3 mounting screws are sized to take a thread insert. I use these https://www.mcmaster.com/94459a130. The holes for the ball bearings will need to be drilled / cleaned up to fit the bearings perfectly. And finally the holes for the 8mm shaft are also made tight to hold the shafts tight. Again, these can be drilled slightly, or the rods heated and pressed in. Pay attention to the order of assembly. There are some belts / parts that have to go on first. Finally, a tip to getting the open belts through these is to use a thin piece of metal as a type of 'shoe horn'. I cut up a soda can for this. Good luck.
