Watch Attachment NFC Contactless Payment

Description

Inspired by https://www.instructables.com/id/RFID-NFC-Tap-and-Go-Ring-for-Credit-Card-Payment/#discuss Things I used: Cracked Revolut card Old/Broken wired headphones 2 part Epoxy Solder Iron and Wire. Follow instructables guide to removing the chip from the card. This chip has a built in antenna but it is too small and too weak for consumer use, so we have to extend it. There's a trace on one side of the card that needs cutting, its the trace for the built in antenna. Please see images above on where to cut and solder. This trace has to be cut as it wont work if left as is. For the coil antenna I used approximate 36cm of wire scavenged from an old pair of headphones, this will give approximately 6 turns on the 3D printed image. To adjust for watch strap thickness, try adjusting the Z dimension as it was a tight fit for my watch strap. Place the chip in the indent, feed the wires through the 2 small holes, solder wires to the circled pads in the image, epoxy all in place. I suggest to test your device before assembling and definitely before epoxying. Range is about 1cm due to the coil not being tuned to the right inductance. Im sure there is someone out there that can calculate this to improve the range.
