Adhesive Pot holder V2.1
Description
DESCRIPTION Adhesive Pot holder for 3 'Tamiya Extra Thin' Size bottles, to provide a convenient organiser & to prevent knocking the pots over while building. The handle rotates and has tabs which hold the pots in place. Version 2.1 is a development of Adhesive Pot holder V2.0 which has 3 removable Segments, which can be customised as Required (Glue spots, Peg holder, cotton bud & toothpick holder), also a New handle option. The Adhesive Pot holder V2.0 is here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4247925 DESIGN NOTES My goal here was to make more use of the unused space between the pots. I designed a number of Segments to fit different items, the 3 best ones I have included here (Seg B-D). Segment A is just the Standard pocket, which you could use to create a more custom coloured version of the original holder version. A blank segment stp file is included if you want to create a New segment design. The photo above shows how I use mine! The handle design Since my first version I have found the hollow handle very useful to store a paint brush and or sticks used to hold parts during painting. With the sturdy base of the holder I often use it stand whole aircraft models (on a stick) between paint coats. With the extra cutouts in the New handle you extra places to stand up parts on sticks while airbrushing. And I think it looks nicer! The New handle can be used on the simpler Adhesive Pot holder V2.0 base also. ASSEMBLY NOTES Print out Parts A, B, and the Tabs Part from PLA, all at 0.2mm layer height, 10-20% infill for Parts A & B, 50% infill for the Tab part. Fit the Tab part into the base Part A, ensuring that there aren't any artefacts (blobs) preventing the Tab part from fitting in flush with the top. Press on the handle so that it clicks into place. If you choose the handle with Open/Closed stops, make sure these are NOT inline with the tabs as you press it on. Keep the handle vertical as you press down (not leaning at an angle), it does require quite a bit of force. Finally secure the Tabs to the base with 2 small screws. For Screws I used M2 (2mm dia) x 4mm long Philips head screws, any small 2mm screw would work between 4-6mm long, or a small tapping screw. The handle may be stiff initially, work the handle a few times & it will bed in & loosen up. Print out 3 of you choice of Segment Parts and drop in place, they can be retained with glue if required.
