Repair Acer VX 15 hinges
Description
The display hinges are the weak point of the Acer VX 15 laptop. The hinges transmit the force on the back panel through tiny M2.5 nuts which after a short time will detach from the thin plastic of the back panel. Once before I had to repair the hinges under warranty but the just repaired laptop creaked while cover opening. If the warranty has expired, the only solutions are to buy a new back panel or replace the original screws with through screws. Instead of using nuts and washers, I designed this 3D printed model to try to improve the aesthetics of the repair. 12 M3x13 countersunk head bolts and 12 M3 nuts are required.
