UPDATE V3: Corona Door opener Handsfree "Model Jena"
Description
UPDATE V3_2020 04 08 This is the V3 of the "Model Jena" There are minor changes on the handle itself - mainly for rigidity. But: In addition you will find a sleeve which fits with a small gap onto the handle. The reason for that is the fact that you can easily remove the area which is touched and disinfect it. in case you have some antibacterial filament like the COPPER3d PLACTIVE or similar, you just need much less material. Eventually someone can try to print the slave in TPU to improve the haptics and, due to the chemical resistance, its good for disinfection. I recommend to use a 0,6 - 0,8mm nozzle because of printing time. When mounting the handle please try to fill the gap with some rubber or cloth or... in order to compensate the difference of the diameter of your existing door handle. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX V01 There are several very good door handle add-ons, snap-ons and screw-ons available for download regarding opening and closing a door without using your hand. Hundreds of engineers, designers and makers are seeking for a good solution for the reduction of spreading corona these days. The model "Jena" is one of them. My aim was to develop an attachment which fits onto several different standard door handles, is easy to mount and demount by using 2-4 standard cable ties 5mm width. It should easily fit onto a door handle with round cross-section Ø 24mm max. If yours is smaller or has another shape, then simply wrap some fabric or rubber between. By using a copper nano-composite antibacterial filament from COPPER3D, this handle should be "self - cleaning" in a certain way. However it is definitely better than nothing. At the moment I am in the test stage with my local general practitioner. Using this model is in every manner on your own risk.
