Description
I had a solder fume extractor that i made out of an old PC fan, but it was too noisy, too big, and not focused on the point of soldering. So i thought i would design my own one, and here it is. It is using a fan of 60mm x 60mm, where it is bolted together with the cone part, but sandwiches between the two halfs a carbon filter cloth. This enables you to change this cloth after many months of use, thus keeping it effective for longer. The whole thing is standing on a tripod, one of those cheap ones you can find in the dollar store, and thus keeps it flexible and easy to move around. The fan can be powered by a 12v adaptor, or a battery, your choice.
