Handrail socket (Customizable)
Description
This is a very basic part. In my home there is a staircase using old 30x30 square steel tubes as posts. As you can see the handrail is mounted inside the concrete floor and without the cover it looks quite ugly. Look at the images for prove :D However, the original plastic covers got lost, broken, started to loosing their original colouring or everything together. Its no longer uniform at all. I planed to replace those parts for years, but now in lock down mode on Easter I took the time and created a simple model using FreeCAD. The model has a 0.3mm gap in one of the corners. You can see it on one of the pictures. This and the non massive back of the model gives enough flex in the PLA to slide the 30x30mm tube through. The PLA is stable enough to slide back into the old position. There is no need for glue unless you want it fixated. As always the FreeCAD model is included, so you can adapt my cover socket to fit your need. Happy Printing
