Filament Sensor For CR10 with Direct Drive Extruder
Description
I converted my CR-10S to a Bondtech Direct Drive configuration (mainly to improve performance with TPU material). Once the Boden Stepper is removed, I used my existing Filament Sensor switch to feed the Bondtech. It was not ideal - being mounted with the screws holding the lead screw threads (which are not supposed to be very tight). The exit did not have a fitting which made feeding the filament to the extruder a problem. I tried adding a coupling onto the filament switch, but that was janky as well. Solution - Use the old Boden Extruder plate and make a mount for the filament switch. Provides a solid mount and a sturdy coupler for the feed tube. I also made a version that passes thru (in case you don't want to use the switch). I printed in PLA with the Base part orientation vertical. This way the only supports are on the "round" and the interior where the switch goes comes out cleaner.\ Enjoy and let me know if you like it!
