parametric rocket engine mold
Description
Nothing too fancy, but I have been gathering supplies to build my own engines for model rockets and needed a (theoretically) reusable mold. I have NOT printed this yet, nor have I attempted to use it to form an engine, but when I do print this, I’ll probably print with PLA at 185 with a 50% infill and hope for the best. Given it being PLA, I plan on giving it a clear coat on the inside. Might use ABS instead because if I ever want to make composite fuel-based engines I'd want to leave it in higher temperatures to cure than PLA will handle, not sure yet. Would recommend spraying with some form of lubricant prior to adding fuel to form an engine as they can be a pain to remove. Current STL files are roughly based off an Estes E9-4 rocket engine, but I included the .f3d so you could of course change it to whatever. Or just make a better one, this isn't exactly anything too special.
