HP 66xxA 65xxA PSU Front Panel Binding Post Adapter

HP 66xxA 65xxA PSU Front Panel Binding Post Adapter

Description

This is an adapter to allow for the installation of front panel binding posts on a HP 664xA, 665xA, 667xA, 668xA and 669xA series System Power Supply. I have only tried this on a 6644A, so it should fit power supplies with a similar form factor and case size. You will need some of these to allow connection of the binding posts to the PCB with some reasonably thick wires and spade type crimp lugs: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/te-connectivity-amp-connectors/1217861-1/A100452CT-ND/2233479 Here are the binding posts I used (I used the solder type, but minor modifications will allow the screw type to be used if you prefer to use crimp lugs on the binding posts): https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=grey+binding+posts The switch I used for the sense selection in the files section, you can substitute with any switch of a similar size. Try to keep it small to ensure it'll fit in the small space provided. You will also need to jumper some links in the middle of the PCB, and optionally install some capacitors at the front of the PCB near the binding posts, they are the same parts as used near the rear binding posts (May as well take the chance to replace the crappy Rifa capacitors while you are at it too.): https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/kemet/R46KI24700001K/399-R46KI24700001K-ND/1930813 https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/kemet/R413I21000000M/399-5474-ND/1930828 The sense wires are run around to the rear connections and connected appropriately (HP didn't make any provision for front sense connections on the PCB), just make sure the sense selector switch is kept in the 'Remote' position for it to work at the front panel! I've supplied STL, STEP and the original Rhino 3D files so you can remix and stuff if needed. Just be cool and credit me somehow. :)
