Holder for Type 2 EV cable

Holder for Type 2 EV cable

Description

All models I have seen so far are female plugs: you are supposed to plug your cable onto the wall as you would to into the car. Problem is that it needs to be horizontal then (else, either it is too tight, and risk to damage the cable, or it falls). And that takes a lot of room. Plus I prefer to have a bit of the load on the handle rather than on the plug itself (I know: when plugged to the car, all the load is on the plug. But then the angle is even higher than horizontal, and the plastic of the car plug is less hard) So I wanted to have something easy to use, that put the load on the handle, that allows quasi vertical angle of the cable, and that close the connector (it is in my garage, which is not very tidy. I don't want to discover that a small spider started to make a cocoon inside the connector one day...). That model does all that. You don't really have to plug the cable on the support. More lay it. But yet the support is shaped for the cable, such has it perfectly fits, and the top part is acting as a tight cap. There are two versions. One made to be screwed directly to the wall. The other, for those who, like me, have a schneider EVlink wallbox (very common with Zoe), and hate to drill more holes than necessary in their walls. That second version come with a hook adapted to the EVlink. All pieces can be printed without support. For the first version (screwed to the wall) print only supportZoe_V1_direct.stl For the second version (hooked to EVlink wallbox) print both supportZoe_V2_withHook_part1 and _part2.stl. ("Zoe" in the names of the files are just because that is the car I own. But there is nothing specific to Zoe in there. Only to type 2 cables) .scad files are provided for those who would like to customize the design
