FlexRC Ascent 3" DJI Air Unit Mount, Brace, and Camera Extension

FlexRC Ascent 3" DJI Air Unit Mount, Brace, and Camera Extension

Description

I hung the DJI Air Unit upside down by using modified another mount that I found on thingiverse. Then I created a bracket that would secure it from the top 2 standoff screws. I would suggest using a zip tie around the DJI Unit and holder so it won't fall out. You only need the camera extension if you use the prop guard and to make sure you do not get the guards in the camer's view. If do you not care, you will not need the extension plate at all. I would suggest print the DJI Air Unit in TPU. For the brace and camera extension I think a firmer filament like PETG, ABS, Nylon, or PLA might work best. I Currently using PLA+ because that is what I usually use for my test prints. If it fails, I will let you know and give you a different suggestion. All of this is still work in progress and you can find my build details here: https://rotorbuilds.com/build/22802 Update (2020 March 22) Replaced the old version of the Prop Guard. The new file name is Prop Guard v2.stl. I made the motor mount holes longer because the screw holding down the motors was not sitting right. Update (2020 Mary 02) After finishing the build, I noticed that the prop guard is designed for taller motors like 1407 because the props are better position where the guard can provide protection. I am assuming the horizontal part of the prop guard should be the same height of the prop. But right now, when I am using 1404 motors the props are sitting too low and the guards is not doing its job because it is slipping through when it bumps into something. There will be 3 version of the prop guard. Prop_Guard_v2.stl - Taller Motors ie. 1407 with 5mm shaft Prop_Guard_v3.stl - Shorter Motors ie. 1404 with t-mount props Prop_Guard_v4.stl - Shorter Motors - bottom insert printed in PLA+,ABS, PETG and etc. I added a forth version of the prop guard because I did not like how the motor screw sinks into the TPU. Print the insert with a harder filament like PLA, PETG, or ABS. While installing the TW board to the frame, the board was sitting higher than necessary so I shorten it a bit: whoopto20x20_3mm_short.stl Update (2020 May 03) Created another version of the prop guard that is 1mm shorter for better fit with AirbladeUAV 1404 superman motors and HG 3x3x3 props. Prop_Guard_v5.stl - Shorter Motors - bottom insert printed in PLA+,ABS, PETG and etc. Update (2020 May 16) Created another version of the prop guard that is the full height to uses the insert so this prop guard will work best for 1407 and 1507 size motors with 5mm prop shaft Prop Guard v2.1.stl Do not forget to print the insert (Insert_v3.stl) to use with the prop guard. I use PLA+ for the insert and it seems to be working very well.
