Sony A7II Quick Release Plate DIN4503

Sony A7II Quick Release Plate DIN4503

Description

This quick release plate for Sony A7II provides more support for the camera. Since the tripod thread is located directly beneath the sensor plane it sits near to the front edge. This results in less solid fixation of the camera. This quick release plate fixes the problem by providing additional support. This one fits the very common, but older design complying with DIN4503. For three ArcaSwiss compatible versions see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4310637. The model has build in support structure to optimize structural integrity of the contact surface for the screw. To make use of this, the print must be paused after the cylinder beneath the screw hole is completed. Then a piece polypropylene tape (common transparent sticky tape) must be suck on to of the cylinder and the access edges of the tape must be pushed into the slit around the cylinder. After that the print should continue by laying down a single layer over the polypropylene tape before the thread starts. The polypropylene has no problems with the temperature of the filament and the filament dose not stick to polypropylene at all. So the support popps of after printing by leaving a smooth and condensed surface behind. This method is shown in my [video about smart support structures](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v90NKni7n7E). You can jump directly to the [German explanation](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v90NKni7n7E&t=670s), the required [action in the slicer](https://youtu.be/v90NKni7n7E?t=825) or the [demonstration](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v90NKni7n7E&t=914s). If you want to use conventional or no support the cylinder can be deleted in the slicer, since it is an separated shape.
